In 2008, Dr. Yamanaka at Kyoto University (currently Director of the Center for iPS Cell Research and Application) discovered iPS cells. There is an increasing number of research and development activities in the field of regenerative medicine with human cells.
For the practical realization of regenerative medicine, it is essential to establish technologies for the reliable management of high-quality cultured cells and efficient cryopreservation of a large volume of them.
Leveraging our strength as the only manufacturer of cryopreservation containers in Japan, we launched the fully-automated cryopreservation system "CryoLibrary®" in 2009, that allows for the reliable management of biological samples such as cells. The system has received a favorable reception since launch.
"CryoLibrary® Advance", launched in March 2015, supports storage or delivery in units of both vials and vial boxes. It can accommodate more than 3 times that of the conventional model.
The degree of evaporation of liquid nitrogen has been reduced to 1/2 or less. It can maintain a temperature below -150℃ for 20 days or longer.
In addition, the high performance image processing cameras can instantly read the 2D barcodes on the bottoms of vials inside a vial box for accelerated handling.
We will continue to develop technologies and improve our equipment to meet the needs of various fields such as the regenerative medicine and bio-pharmaceutical fields.
